Bible Reading resources

When it comes to spiritual growth and discipleship, consistent Bible reading should be at the top of the list. There is no substitute in the life of the believer for spending time daily in the Word of God. Peter, under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit admonishes God's people to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Pet 3:18). How else is the believer to know how to navigate through this life on earth in such a way as to be pleasing to the Lord? The Psalmist writes, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Psalm 119:105).  Below you will find several options for Bible Reading Plans to assist you in your intentional and consistent reading of God's Word.

  • Navigators - New testament 5 days a week

If you’re not currently reading the Bible, start with 5 minutes a day. This reading plan will take you through all 260 chapters of the New Testament, one chapter per day. The gospels are read throughout the year to keep the story of Jesus fresh all year. Find a copy of this plan here.

  • Tabletalk magazine - the bible in a year

The Bible reading plan from Tabletalk magazine is very straightforward. You will read two passages of Scripture each day of the year, one from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament. The plan is designed to take you through the entire Bible over the course of 365 days. Find a copy of this plan here.

  • chronological bible reading plan

This Bible reading plan is unique in that it allows you to read through the entire Bible in one year while reading about the biblical events in the order in which they occurred chronologically. This may appeal to some because you will not simply be reading straight through the Bible. Find a copy of this plan here.
